Choosing Inventus, Mishcon de Reya becomes the first UK law firm to enter into a fully managed service agreement for Relativity with an e-Discovery supplier.
It is the first UK law firm to enter into a fully managed service agreement for Relativity with an e-Discovery supplier
March 8, 2016: Mishcon de Reya has today announced that it is launching its own in-house e-Discovery facility, ‘Mishcon Discover’. Now Mishcon will offer clients the option of having all of their e-Discovery activity managed by the lawyers working on their matters – with the support of the firm’s in-house e-Discovery experts.
The facility will utilise Relativity, the e-Discovery software developed by kCura, which was licensed by Mishcon de Reya through UK e-Discovery expert, Inventus. Relativity provides law firms, government agencies and corporations with effective solutions to tackle legal projects ranging from litigation to internal investigations and data remediation.
While becoming a popular model with law firms in the US, Mishcon de Reya is the first UK law firm to enter into a fully managed service agreement for Relativity of this nature. With Inventus’s expertise in e-Discovery infrastructure implementation and the maintenance and support of Relativity environments, it will allow the law firm to provide their clients with highly efficient e-Discovery services, ensuring their lawyers harness the benefits associated with the latest analytics and predictive coding technologies.
Richard Legge, a Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) was appointed as e-Discovery manager in 2014 to oversee the development and management of the new facility. Commenting on the rationale behind the launch of the service, Richard said: “Mishcon de Reya spotted inefficiency in the way law firms manage e-Discovery and, true to form, has decided to tread new ground in order to address this. Not only will the process of e-Discovery now be more efficient, we will also be able to identify and deliver technical solutions through a closer collaboration with the legal teams.”
“We’re seeing lawyers better understand the value in using e-Discovery software to investigate their clients’ data and get to the bottom of their cases, so it’s great seeing the technical and legal teams at Mishcon de Reya collaborating in a unified e-Discovery group,” said Andrew Sieja, president and CEO of kCura. “We’re excited that Mishcon de Reya is using Relativity for this new initiative.”
CEO of Inventus International Paul Mankoo comments: “We are delighted to be providing the first fully managed e-Discovery service of Relativity in the UK and look forward to complementing Mishcon de Reya’s in-house e-Discovery facility. With ever expanding data volumes, technology innovations and the complexity of e-Discovery infrastructure maintenance, law firms and corporations are increasingly turning away from the headache of in-house installations and their associated costs, risk and impact on available resource. Inventus has always been at the forefront of improving e-Discovery service delivery to clients and our bespoke managed service offerings provide on demand access to all of that benefit.”
